Time to get some new blood in there to get these kids playing at the level they can. I’m excited to find out who is replacing him.

Ladies and gentlemen, the Edmonton Oil Kings are one game away from capturing the WHL and moving onto the Memorial Cup for the first time in modern day franchise history. Thanks to Captain Mark Psysk’s last minute goal last night, the boys look to close off the series on Saturday night in Portland. There is no doubt that they are the best sports team in Edmonton right now! Keep it up boys!!!
Congratulations to Laurent Brossoit, who was name series MVP after another magnificent performance in game 5. The young man made 37 saves as his Oil Kings have made it to the WHL Finals. Laurent has been almost unbeatable in the post season posting a .945 save percentage and a 1.65 goal against average. The LB chants have been and will continue to fill the air at Rexall. It is a shame that he will be in a Calgary Flames’ net in the next year or two. But until then, he has some unfinished business - a WHL Championship and a Memorial Cup Championship.
The Edmonton Oil Kings are the 2012 Eastern Conference Champs! They beat the Moose Jaw Warriors in 5 games to advance to the WHL Final for the first time in modern day franchise history. The energy was electric at Rexall and I can’t wait for the finals to became next week and hope the boys continue their impressive play of this season. They are now 12-1 in the playoffs and have looked incredible throughout a 22 game winning streak that ended in Moose Jaw on Wednesday night. It is nice to have a winning hockey team in Edmonton once again. So bring on the Winterhawks, Edmonton’s ready!!!

“The red-hot Edmonton Oil Kings are now front and centre at Rexall Place. Their logo occupies centre ice and will stay there for the rest of their Western Hockey League playoff run.”
Unfortunately the remarkable 22 game winning streak came to an end last night, but the boys will look to close out the Warriors back at Rexall tomorrow night and yours truly will once again be in attendance, cheering them on.
Game 2 in t-minus 2 hours. The Oil Kings are looking for a 2-0 series lead and extend their winning streak to 21 games.
After a long 9 days off, the hottest team in the CHL gets back at it tomorrow night. Led by Laurent Brossoit, who has been incredible throughout the season, the boys are currently on a 19 game winning streak. They have been unbeatable in the post season going 8-0 thus far. I can’t wait to head back to Rexall to watch the boys take on Moose Jaw, the #2 team in Eastern Conference in the regular season, and go for their 20th straight win and take one step closer to heading to the WHL Championship.
