Time to get some new blood in there to get these kids playing at the level they can.  I’m excited to find out who is replacing him.

This is reason why the Oilers have won a couple of games in a row.  These two young players are on fire right now.  Gagner, who broke Gretzky’s record for getting points on 11 straight Oilers goals, is on the cusp of finally having his breakout season after struggling for most of the season.  Eberle, who is among the league leaders in points, proved just how clutch he can be in the final minute of a hockey game by scoring a game tying goal with 38 seconds left against the best team in the league.  That being said, they have had some serious help with Dubnyk, who is proving why he can be a #1 goalie in the NHL with a nice run of victories.  Once again, the Oilers will end up with a top 5 pick in the draft and will continue to rebuild their once fine organization, but I gotta say I’m getting excited once again with all their potential…

For the first time in over 3 years, I will get to see my beloved San Jose Sharks live in action.  And for the first time ever, I will get to watch a NHL game that doesn’t have the bloody Toronto Maple Leafs.  As much as I love Jordan Eberle and the young Oilers since moving to Edmonton, I have not stop cheering for my Sharks and will be donning my Teal at Rexall tonight as I support my team, the Sharks! Go Sharks Go!

Both of my hockey teams are struggling, but the Sharks need this win more.  The Oilers have been a pleasant surprise this year, competing in almost every game.  The Sharks have been struggling lately and haven’t been playing to their abilities.  The offense is struggling, the PK is struggling, the Power Play is struggling, but there’s still a lot of hockey left to play.  So, here’s hoping they can turn it around and build on the momentum from the comeback win against the Avs on Thursday.

The Oilers will not be dead last this year.  They won’t make the playoffs, but my God are the exciting to watch, especially The Kid Line (Eberle, Nuggent-Hopkins, and Hall).  Those 3 young men are not only the future of the organization, but they are currently one of the reasons why the Oilers are off to a decent start this year.  Last night, they got 5 points between the 3 of them and the Oilers only scored 2 goals.  Yes, they need to mature and will make mistakes.  Nuggent-Hopkins in particular has shown the Oilers faithful that he is NHL ready with a team leading 5 goals already.  And the scary thing is they can only get better.
