I got season 4 of this awesome show for Christmas and watched the complete season in a matter of days.  It isn’t as great as the first couple seasons, but it is still one of the better shows on TV right now. Hank Moody is one of the best TV characters ever!

No matter what happens in next week’s finale of Californication; whether or not Hank Moody goes to jail or not, he is still one of the greatest TV characters currently on the air.  From season 1, you know he’s a sleazeball, alcoholic, occasional drug user and seems to have no morals.  Despite all that you can’t help yourself but to like the man or at least enjoy the roller coaster that is his life and watch him make bad decision after bad decision.  Honestly, I think the man’s got a good heart and he just lacked proper judgment at times and has faced the consequences.   The man is a brilliant writer, who lives his life borderline out of control, but always is there for his family and friends.  Not to mention, he is freakin’ hilarious with his witty lines and snappy comebacks.  Just wanted to show my love for the character before he ends up in jail or whatever his punishment turns out to be next week.

Californication Season 3 Review
If you have been reading this blog for awhile, you will know that I am quite fond of this little show about a self-loathing writer, who has to deal with a teenage daughter and her mother who has moved to New York City in this season.  Sadly, I don’t have the channels and didn’t have a chance to watch the episodes online, so I had to wait for the DVD to be released.  Although Season 3 was a tad weaker than the first 2 seasons, it was still a great season and still one of the better shows on TV.  I think that this season needed more Karen and Mia.  However, I did enjoy the lady juggling that Hank (David Duchovny) did this season and the lovely Eva Amurri was fantastic.  That being said, I really hope they end it soon and don’t try to drag it out as one of the show’s strengths is that incredibly original and hilarious dialogue.  Also, I hope that Mia (who wasn’t a regular in season 3) comes back for season 4, which starts this Sunday.
